I love being asked to enter competitions that involve being given resources that I would never usually buy or pick myself as it forces me to think in a different way and come up with new ideas. This time round, Topps Tiles sent me some mosaic tiles and glue and asked me to craft an item using the tiles. This was pretty tricky as I wouldn’t have chosen the colours that I was sent so I had to think hard. Here’s what I came up with…
I picked off all of the baby pink tiles from the brownish sheet and combined them with the white ones to make a pastel pink garden drinks tray.
What would you have made?
Thank you to Topps Tiles for the resources π

How lovely, and v clever to pick out the pale pink ones! π
Thanks, Caroline! x
Love those little tiles – I want to tile my kitchen with them. Maybe I could make a matching tray too! I have no idea what I would have made – would have been a bit stumped by the brown. Well done!
Yes, the brown tiles were a bit problematic. Hope the tiling of your kitcehn goes well π
Great idea – love it!! xx
Thanks, Becky! x
This looks awesome. I love it. I’m such a huge fan of trays at the moment and got a beautiful mosaic one from TK Maxx a while ago for my bar area and it makes me smile.
Love a good TK Maxx find π
Look at your view! So jealous! Lovely tray too π
It is a pretty amazing view. We have a 360 degree view of central London, which is great especially during big national events like New Years Eve or the Olympics as we can see all the action.
Ahhhh so clever and looks quick+easy! Must try this xx
Very quick and easy with the glue as no need for grout. Plus, it isn’t ‘proper’ mosaics as I didn’t cut any tiles to shape π
Now, lovely, my mosaic piece is a little bit more complicated with having to cut tiles to fit shapes:-)) Still think you’re up for it….
Great tray!
Ha! No time for all of that! Also, I didn’t have enough of a variety of colours for cutting them into shapes. I’d love to help with your project though x
Genius!
Thanks, Gigi! x
Ooh a lovely idea, love your terrace too! x
The terrace is great – need a decent outside space in London otherwise you can begin to feel very hemmed in x
