I first spotted the Dutch home of Editor of 101 woonideeen, Kim van Rossenberg, on one of my favourite blogs, My Scandinavian Home. It caught my eye because I’m always quite fascinated by the monochrome look and how it must feel to live with the look. But also, I really like the touches around the home, that don’t scream ‘Christmas’ but subtly create a festive feel.
Anyhoo, let me know what you think – could you live with this colour scheme? And are you all the about the big tree, tinsel and red, green and gold or does this understated decorating appeal? Either way, I hope you can find some inspiration for your own home…

Just to say, only discovered your blog recently and love it! I’d love to have pared back and all white interiors but unfortunately with a working springer spaniel who loves mud and a rugby playing, army hubby thats not possible!
I do have stripped floorboards (easy to mop) and white walls (not so easy to keep clean) but furnishings, throws and cushions do have to be in colour and easy to wash!
My chistmas scheme has always been gold, creams and bronzes but this year have introduced more wood, neutrals and clear crystal. The effect looks great – even the hubby commented when he came in from work yesterday after I had put the tree up!
Thank you so much, Sarah, for your lovely comment and kind words about my blog! Totally hear you on the messy family front – my white walls have never been the same since having a dog – and I long for floorboards, although my MDF floor has revolutionised my life so I’m happy with that for now. I hope you have a lovely xmas – your decorations sound beautiful! x
