I really, really hope that some of you can identify with me when I say that I can not function properly if my flat is in a state of disarray. For the last two weeks what will be my new home office has been turned upside down as we’ve had to rip up the carpet, take down and put up shelves and so on. This has meant that not only the room where I normally work, make and blog from has been a complete tip but also we’ve had random bits of furniture, wood and tools lying around the rest of the flat (the downside of decorating a room when you live in a flat is that there isn’t enough space to close it all off). This is the reason I have not felt inspired or able to sit down amidst a huge mess to blog. My ideas, plans, to-do list have all gone out of the window. I can not physically do it. Am I weird? Does anyone else understand this? I can not and will not be productive in a mess. Jules says I need therapy 😉
Anyhoo, I had my last day at work as a teacher this week so expect a lot more posts from now on (once order has been reinstated around here!).

I am so excited for you and your new venture! Good luck with everything, I think this is going to be an incredible new chapter of your life which I can’t wait to follow on the old blog. And don’t worry about not blogging for a bit while everything is in a bit of disarray. I sympathise – I can’t blog when there are other people in the house so it makes it hard during the summer with a full house! xxx
Thank you so much, Jojo, for your lovely comment! It is super exciting not knowing what and where and when things will happen. I was just thinking about you the other day and your beautiful illustrations – have you decided to move to London or not? xx
I totally sympathise! Good luck with getting it all sorted.
Thank you, Louise! Made quite a bit of progress today so feeling a lot better already x
I am exactly the same as you, Katy. I can’t do anything meaningful when surrounded by an untidy house or room. I wonder what the solution is? If you find a solution, let us all know!!
If you find out before me, let me know! 😉
I think you would have a lot of company in therapy! Since having kids I’ve had to learn to relax a little but I still struggle if I am surrounded by chaos! Emma x
That’s true – since having a big, dirty dog I have had to relax a bit too. It all seems so trivial when you put it into perspective, I suppose x
I totally agree about having the place that you work in in chaos….it hinders the creative mind….good luck with the room and even more good luck with your step into the future…..your blog so far has been exciting to read considering you were also holding down a teaching job and everything else….so can’t wait to see what’s next! Penny x
Thank you for the lovely comment, Penny! I’ll have to get you board for some ‘guest posts’! x
I completely agree Katy, how can you produce something organised and sorted when you haven’t got a nice space to work!? Soon to be sorted though and I’m really looking forward to seeing your home office! Good luck with this next step, very excited for you! Hannah xx
Thanks lovely! Hope you’re well. Must meet up soon 🙂 xx
Totally understand, we had new carpets in our bedrooms just before Little L started summer hols! Total plans out of window for me and poor blog needs some love x
